We are making changes.. just a few days!

Services we run and operate here at severeweather.co.nz do take time and money to produce, while we also work full time jobs outside of what we do here - so every now and then somethings come up where we may lose one of our weather forecasters for a period of time.

What is changing, and for how long:

  • Tropic Watch will be updated IF there is a non zero threat from said system that we are keeping an eye on. This Tropic Watch will run as normal from Saturday 1st March evening update ( should there be active areas to watch )

  • Our 6 Day Significant Weather Outlook will be discontinued until Friday 21st February.

  • This 6 Day Significant Weather Outlook will be replaced with our “Special Weather Statement” - these go into a bit less detail and no map guides, but will cover impactful weather information like rainfall totals/wind gusts etc so noone is caught offguard.

  • Critical Alerts will still be issued if we feel conditions have met the requirement for one to be issued.

  • A new DroughtCast update was to be released due to drought conditions forming in the western North Island, and because the severity and longevity, a DroughtCast will be made for the regions affected on the 13th February - new updates in and rain chances will be relayed with updates every 2 days or as needed.

We aim to have our full list services available again on Saturday 22nd February.

Blog Posts & Regular Facebook updates will be made during this time.

    Thank you for your Support!
